Swim Team

St. Albans Sharks Swim Team is a member of the Champlain Valley Swim League and participates in 8 league meets, district, and state events. The swim team is a great way to improve swim skills, challenge yourself and meet new friends. Requirements: Team members must be able to swim the length of the pool. (25 Yards) Parents must volunteer to work a minimum of 6 meets (home or away) or pay a $200 opt out of volunteering charge. Team families must also attend a mock meet to be held the Tuesday before the first scheduled meet. This will be an opportunity to learn what each volunteer position entails, and how a meet runs. Membership fees and/or uniforms are often covered by the Chauncey B. Warner Endowment Foundation. Click on the form below to download an application. Completed applications are then sent to the Foundation, you will receive a notification letter from the Foundation, and then you submit that letter to the recreation department. New Info: There will be a mandatory parent's meeting & mock meet on Thursday, June 20 at St. Albans City Pool. The parent's meeting will begin at 5:30. There must be a representative from each family present. The mock meet will start after the meeting. Each volunteer posistion will be explained and demonstrated so that evryone will know what is involved in choosing that position to volunteer for. We will also give out the preliminary info for the league meet on July 26 & 27th. Parents interested in helping out with the meet will be asked to sign up and a separate meeting will be scheduled to work on that meet. The Volunteer Spot sign up site will not be opened until after this meeting. It is scheduled to be opened on Friday June 21.

Practices: Monday thru Friday : Swimmers age 11 and up 7:00am - 8:30am, Swimmers age 10 and under 8:30-9:30am.
Location: St. Albans City Pool 99 Aldis Street
Start date: Monday, June 17 -if your swimmer is still in school, no worries, just start attending practice once school is out.
