Janet Bonneau
Introduction to Oil Painting - Still Life Janet Bonneau, Instructor This class is an introduction to oil painting using water based oils and will cover basic concepts of composition, value, color mixing using a limited palette and basic brushwork technique. We will work on still life subjects such as fresh fruit, flowers or household objects with the goal of producing small studies and more finished paintings by the end of the course. The class is geared towards beginners with no prior experience in oils.

Janet Bonneau grew up on a dairy farm in northern VT surrounded by the beauty of nearby mountains, rivers and fields of the local countryside.  She enjoys working directly from nature and most of her landscapes are painted 'en plein air' or outdoors.  She finds inspiration through all the seasons, in particular fall and winter.  Her paintings are described as impressionistic with a touch of realism.

She received her art training at the Maryland Institution College of Art, in Baltimore, Maryland, and has studied with well known VT artists Eric Tobin and Andrew Orr.  She continues a course of self-study through daily painting or drawing.

Janet is a member of the American Impressionist Society, the Bryan Memorial Gallery, and current President of the Northern Vermont Artists Association.  She is represented by The Village Frame Shoppe & Gallery in St. Albans and Vermont Fine Art Gallery in Stowe.
