Great fun for your kids in the afternoon!  Kids live in an increasingly hetic and overscheduled world. Our afternoon programming provides a friendly, safe and active time for kids to unwind after school.  Program meets at Barlow Street Community Center on the 2nd floor at 39 Barlow Street.  We have a snack and then take off for some outdoor fun or work on art, homework, games or cooking inside.  If we head out we're back at Barlow for 5:00pm for those picking up early.

Pick-up is between 5:00 and 5:30pm at Barlow Street School.

Each day is limited in size - register early to avoid disappointment!
Participants must be registered by 8am the day they are attending for planning purposes.  If you are registering your child within 24 hours of the time they will be attending, you MUST call the recreation office at 524-1500 X266 and speak with office staff.  A voice mail is not sufficient.

***Transportation is available***
City School A Session kids can be bussed to Barlow Street on the City School Bus. Parents must make arrangements with the school.  The bus stops daily at our doorstep :)
The Rec Department Staff can pick up kids from City School B Session and SATEC. Parents must contact the recreation office to arrange for pickup in advance and must notify the school that Recreation Staff will be picking up their child.

***NOTE:***WHEN SCHOOL IS CANCELLED OR HAS EARLY DISMISSAL, THERE IS NO AFTERNOON PROGRAM***

Schedule
  • Our Afternoon Fun days do not run during school vacations or when school is cancelled or released early.
  • Join us at Vacation Day Camp from 7:30-4:30 during vacations!

Registration Information
Children must be registered before 8am on the day they will be attending to be included on the daily roster. If must register later than 8am make sure to connect with office staff so the roster can be amended. A voice mail is not sufficient.

If you have registered your child, and they are unable to attend, you MUST contact the recreation office either by email k.viens@stalbansvt.com or j.calano@stalbansvt.com or by phone 524-1500 X266 or x268 to let us know in advance.

No credits or adjustments can be made after the date has passed.

THERE ARE NO REFUNDS ISSUED FOR CANCELLED RECREATION PROGRAMMING. ONCE THE REGISTRATION IS MADE, THE ONLY ADJUSTMENT AVAILABLE IS A CREDIT TO YOUR RECREATION ACCOUNT.

If your child is waiting for pick up by the Rec Dept with the other kids, we pick him or her up regardless whether they are registered or not. We will register and bill your account when they arrive at the Rec Dept. We do not leave kids behind if they are standing waiting for us even if parents have forgotten to register them, or if they are there in error.
